This is the sort of camera I would carry on any trip into the wilderness. Sadly, I had to find out the hard way whether a camera can perform under extreme cold. In the good old days of fully manual film cameras, this problem didn’t exist.
These days, I also carry a small pocket camera as backup. That one also runs on standard AA batteries. Of course, lithium is not very “standard”, but you really need them under freezing conditions. No need for charger. Doesn’t matter if you can’t find any power supply.
